UK retailer Play has added a pre-order listing for the “Ubisoft Triple Pack” to their website, and while Ubisoft has yet to officially confirm the existence of the compilation, fans of worthwhile, innovative, original games should keep an eye out for it soon. The compilation contains 3 of Ubisoft’s best downloadable titles: Michel Ancel’s critically lauded action adventure Beyond Good and Evil HD, the color-based action platformer Outland, and Eric Chahi’s ambitious god game From Dust.

Ubisoft replies to yet another DRM controversy
You can’t seem to write anything about Ubisoft that’s news-worthy without it being about their DRM some days. Ubisoft’s release Anno 2070, which if I remember the series correctly is a game built heavily around trading and economics. The game’s DRM limits you to three activations, and as you would expect, torches and pitchforks saw a 500% increase in sales on Amazon.
Assassin’s Creed Revelations Review
Assassin’s Creed Revelations doesn’t have strict bitchy DRM
Assassin’s Creed’s upcoming entry will still have DRM, but it wont be annoying, bitchy, intrusive, or otherwise invasive. It will simply do a one-time activation and then it will never be spoken of again. Ubisoft in recent releases has been heavily criticized for using Always Online DRM even on singleplayer games, players of From Dust being affected quite heavily and getting a lot of backlash.
If Ubisoft has half a spine, they will do this for all their titles which have been given annoying DRM mechanics since they’ve realized their mistake in punishing paying customers. I remember when you could just put in 697f- vshb-55ep-pl34 when installing it and that was the end of the problem. Assassin’s Creed Revelations comes out at the end of this month.
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Has New Release Date
The much delayed Ghost Recon: Future Soldier has yet another release date, hopefully it’s the last one. Back in June Ubisoft mentioned a March 2012 release and it seems that many retailers have not confirmed this but narrowed it to March 6th. Target, Best Buy, Amazon, Gamestop and Wal-Mart all seem to agree on this. Though it’s not an official announcement this is as good as one.
I Am Alive Set for Winter Release
Ubisoft recently updated the official Facebook page for I Am Alive to reflect the new release date, vaguely stated as Winter 2011.The game was thought to be cancelled as it hasn’t been mentioned since screenshots of the game leaked back in 2009. In addition to that a new description was also added to the page. This details the game as a post-apocalyptic world with everyman as the survivor against a human threat, nothing supernatural.
From Dust Online Authentication being Patched for PC
Ubisoft is trying to hold onto it’s dwindling relationship with PC gamers after many issues with DRM on From Dust. Ubisoft has recently stated on it’s forums that they are actively working on a patch, which should be available for download in two weeks, that will remove the constant need for online authentication to play the game.
Rumor: Steam giving refunds for From Dust because of DRM? Not likely. [Debunked]
According to the grapevine which is 90% troll and 9% outright libel, Ubisoft have violated the DRM rules that Steam sets down. The publisher had said they will only have a one-time-activation DRM for purchasers of From Dust but rumor has it that this is not the case. Apparently, Steam will be giving a refund to anyone that asks for one on the grounds of false advertising, which all people who have touched business know is a huge deal, and in some countries, the laws about it come with a full set of teeth. Personally I think this is bunk.
EDIT: My suspicions were correct, see this image posted on Reddit. Steam is not giving refunds for From Dust.
From Dust Tops Sales Record Day One for Ubisoft XBLA Releases
Summer of Arcade is a great way for a small publisher to get recognized or it can be used as a well to sell A LOT of copies of a very unique game, which happened with From Dust. The first day it launched with impressive sales, though Ubisoft did not specify exactly how many units were sold they did mention that this is the most successful launch of any XBLA title they have released.
Black Death: A Horror FPS
Darkworks, the developer that has put I Am Alive on hold, is currently working a new project which may or may not see the light of day, considering their track record. The game is called Black Death which, despite sounding like a Norwegian metal band, is a pretty befitting name considering it’s gameplay. Though not a whole lot is known yet, Ubisoft did share some gameplay and environment info.

With the Kinect, you will find yourself tapping your feet with the rhythm, scoring those perfect beats with a wave of your hands. This is absolutely a feel-good game.
E3 2011 Ubisoft: Rocksmith
The problem that came with mastering Guitar Hero was that, after all those hours of spent mastering the game, you still didn’t learn how to play guitar. However, no matter how high your score is for Knights of Cydonia, you will never sound like Matt Bellamy. Ubisoft has solved this problem with their new guitar video game, Rocksmith.
