Josh Olin of Treyarch resigns
Call of Duty is rife with 12 year olds who swear. Treyarch basically says “Cursers gonna curse.”
A major problem with online games, especially ones with headsets is that you get massive amounts of homophobic, racial, derogatory, and sexist slurs from all angles from the incredibly immature community. It is also the #1 reason I keep everyone’s mics muted without discrimination whenever I play because of such thickwits.
Call of Duty XP Will Have Playable Modern Warfare 3 Demo
This September thousands of Call of Duty fans will get the ultimate experience(XP) at a convention built around the franchise that has become hugely popular. Modern Warfare 3 will be one of the many ‘experiences’ to be had at this LA based convention, but it seems to be on par with the other events to appear at the two day show.

Call of Duty: Black Ops – Escalation Map Pack Achievment List
The Call of the Dead along with four new maps launch to many awaiting COD fans tomorrow, and judging by the trailers we are in for a serious party. The maps look like they are full of variety and range, and the zombie map looks to raise the bar even higher then ever before. Not to mention George A Romero, the godfather of all things zombie, has leant his hand at preparing the story and direction for Call of the Dead.
COD: Black Ops – Double EXP Weekend – Starting Feb 4th
With the first installment of Black Ops DLC showing up this week, it’s no wonder that Treyarch is spreading the love on all platforms with a Double EXP weekend. The multiplayer madness begins on Friday and will run all weekend, I imagine the new maps will be worked into a new playlist, so at least you will have an opportunity play the four new maps and rank up along the way.
Call of Duty: Black Ops – DLC Details – First Strike Feb 1st
It may not come as a surprise when I say that Treyarch and Activision have a map pack on the way for all of you COD fans. This may be old news, considering the Xbox DLC exclusive was announced during the Microsoft E3 keynote last summer. Regardless this is great news for both online fanatics and Nazi zombie enthusiasts. The “First Strike” map pack will include five new maps, four will be used for traditional online play, and the fifth is a new zombie environment called “Ascension”. The other maps are as follows:
Cuba Upset Over Castro Cameo In Call Of Duty: Black Ops
If you’ve started playing through the newly-released Call of Duty: Black Ops in the last couple of days, you may have been surprised to discover that ex-dictator of Cuba Fidel Castro plays a major role in the game’s early hours. Apparently the nation of Cuba was also surprised and not terribly amused. [Warning: This article contains some minor spoilers about the beginning of Black Ops.]
Call of Duty – Black Ops is Amongst Us – So Whats Next You Ask?
Just in case you have been living under a rock for the past six months, today marks the release of the next installment in the Call of Duty franchise. Black Ops has been extremely well received across the board in almost all major gaming communities, and those of us playing here at IGX are having an absolute blast so far. Treyarch seems to have found a perfect blend from previous COD installments and still stamping the game with their own flavor and personality.
Gary Oldman & Ed Harris Making an Appearance in Black Ops
Gary Oldman, most likely known from the mega hit film The Dark Knight and more recently The Book of Eli, is set to voice Sgt. Reznov once again in Call of Duty Black Ops. He is not new to doing voice work in video games, which started almost 12 years ago in the video game adaptation of The Fifth Element; he then proceeded to more notable works, such as Medal of Honor Allied Assault (Sgt. Jack Barnes), True Crime: Streets of LA (Rasputin & Agent Masterson) and voiced Ignitus in a couple Spyro games. Being the great actor that he is, I am sure he will bring some life to Viktor Reznov as he did in World at War.
Call of Duty: Black Ops – Multiplayer Details and New Trailer’s – Updated
When the initial teaser trailer for Black Ops multiplayer surfaced, we mentioned that a full reveal would be on its way shortly. Well today is that day and their is plenty to talk about thanks to a press event held by Treyarch.
First up is combat training, this looks to be a multiplayer training mode using bots and can be played on multiplayer maps. This seems like a great alternative to online play, but the mode still captures the essence of unpredictable online play.
