It’s almost time to go back to Raccoon City where it all started and what better way to enjoy that then by digging into a box filled with DLC cards and patches. Er, that’s supposed to sound fun. Either way, that’s about what you will expect for an additional $10 this March 20th. Well, there may be something else in there as well.
Today, publisher Deep Silver has announced a truly collectible Collector’s Edition of Risen 2, their pirate RPG. I say it’s truly collectible because its one of the few limited editions to not include a book of DLC codes, and instead contains only physical goodies.
Activision has upped the ante this year’s Hardened edition of Modern Warfare 3, usually ringing in at $80, this one will cost a hundo($100). The reason for this isn’t as obvious when seeing what’s included in the box, but hidden in there is a full year of DLC packs that will cost you nothing, while being estimated at a $60 value. Before I explain, here’s what’s included:

The $69.99 bundle include the special edition Wiimote plus and the game’s soundtrack, in a addition to the game of course. Activision has recently announced some very exiting news for all those attending the upcoming XP event. All who doled out $150 to attend the event will also get a redeemable code for Modern Warfare 3. This is on top of all the other freebies and fun to be had at the LA convention. No details were provided as to how the actual redemption process will work, but it will be redeemable November 8, when the game is officially released.
Collectors and Special Editions of games have become so common that it’s rare when one isn’t released in some form. Forza is no different and is known for including some neat extras, such as a USB flash drive (Forza 3). Now we have the details on the upcoming racing sims’ Collectors Edition and it’s loaded with bonus content–lacking in the physical department though.
Bethesda, creator of several non-linear RPGs such as Morrowind, has officially announced they will be releasing an anniversary edition of their release The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, a non-linear first-person RPG notable for its sheer size and depth.

Capcom is sending there love a day late next year to all their devoted fans when Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds is released on February 15.They are making up for this however by showing their appreciation with a worthy special edition of the game, the downloadable character Jill Valentine, is the least of which. It is typical for various retailers to get special pre-order bonuses, but it is very rare for one to get a full on special edition of a game that no other outlet will get. Though some items included in this edition will make it on Amazon in some form, the whole set is only available to those who get it the game at Gamestop.
