The DS time-traveling RPG epic Radiant Historia, published by Atlus, had a limited run. Atlus’ business model focuses on small niche games aimed at a rather specific demographic, often of the dungeon-crawler fandom. The greatness and rarity of Radiant History made the price skyrocket after it went out of print, and now, Atlus is considering a reprint.

Nier Review
Since we’re in the middle of the usual late summer lull of new game releases, I thought it would be a good idea to go work down my substantial backlog of games that I bought but never played; my inability to resist a good bargain and my penchant for impulse buys has left me with an anorexic checking account and a stack of dozens of games that I’ve barely had the time to play, with a few of them still wasting away in their shrink-wrap. Nier was one of these games. Initial critical response to Nier was mixed; professional critics lambasted the game for it’s archaic look and bizarre style, but despite being dismissed by the press and mostly ignored at retail at the time of it’s release, the game has quickly garnered a small but dedicated cult following, who praise Nier as the best J-RPG of this generation. Intrigued, I decided to check Nier out for myself.
Xenoblade Chronicles Coming a Month Early to Europe
Despite Project Rainfall attempting to get Xenoblade localized for the North American market, to no avail, it is being pushed to an earlier release elsewhere. Originally planned for a September 3rd release date in Europe, Xenoblade: Chronicles will be released nearly a months time earlier on August 19th. Sadly, it was the hype behind Project Rainfall that spurred this decision, not necessarily because it was ready in time.
New Website Name Hints at FFXIII Sequel
Today Square Enix registered a domain name for “finalfantasy13-2game.com,” hinting that they may be preparing a sequel to their 2010 RPG blockbuster. Of course, Square could just be registering the domain name to protect their trademark, but this action lends credence to the rumors that Square is planning a return to the worlds of Cocoon and Pulse.
The Last Story Release Date Announced
Good RPGs are few and far between on the Wii amongst the sea of Wii Fits and Sports min-games, perhaps that is why I am so looking forward to the latest creation from Hironobu Sakaguchi, whom is the creator of Final Fantasy and also the big wig at Mistwalker studios. Last Story is his sole project for this year, as we mentioned earlier in the year when the concept art for the game was released.
38 Studios New Title Unveiled at comic-con
Copernicus now has an official name! It is Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning; and it is being developed by Ken Rolston, written by R.A. Salvatore (Morrowind, Oblivion) with art director Todd Mcfarlane (Spawn) and Curt Schillings (former pitcher for the Boston Red Sox) over seeing the project. Everyone listed above was present at San Diego ComicCon this year to discuss the details of the game and they all seemed very passionate about it. Todd actually jumped up on the table at one point while describing the battle elements.
The game at it’s base appears to be a fantasy RPG, a very ambitious one by the sound of it. It will have vast worlds akin to the Elder Scrolls later iterations. It was also hinted that the world would actually change overtime in a realistic fashion. The trailer that was shown was very short and simple, it consisted of a warrior battling demonic skeletons and casting magic while also weilding a magical sword of light. It was not gameplay graphics but it was beautiful to watch.
