PS3 gamers probably haven’t left their couch much lately after the release of Insomniacs latest hit Resistance 3 was released, as well as the Survival DLC which makes even more of a reason to play. Well it seems Insomniac never wants you to sleep, as their name implies, because they are working on a new patch with adds even more content, but for free!
Nielsen has made a list of the top twenty most heavily anticipated games for the holiday season. The survey ranked the games based on how many put them in their top five. 27% of gamers surveyed put Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in the top five, full list after the jump.
This is why we can’t have ni- oh wait, I read it wrongly. To give thanks to all the participants in the Resistance 3 beta, Insomniac Games are giving them the Bowman’s Insult in the form of the Double Bird taunt and a Hale skin. Players who have participated in the beta test of Resistance 3 received an email that details everything. Players who log onto Resistance 3 between now and the end of the beta will get two goodies for free. The first goodie being a Hale skin that you can use, and getting the Hawaiian Good Luck Sign as a taunt.
During the madness of GDC news last week it was hard to make sure every cool bit of footage made it on the site. One of those games and videos that was left out last week was Resistance 3. From the get go Resistance 3 looks like its bringing all the right things to the table, and not just trying to mimic its competition.
The Resistance franchise has been a reason for me to continuously keep a PS3 in my life. First party titles always seem to have that extra bit of TLC throughout development in order to really impress there target audience. Resistance 3 seems to be a perfect example of that, judging by this gameplay Resistance 3 is going to make many of there fans happy. These few minutes shown below give a fresh look into the world of Resistance, and really start to shown the intensity of dealing with the chimera on a more personal level.
Playstation Blog broke out a nice piece of news this week announcing the upcoming release of yet another game-related novel. Resistance: A Hole in the Sky, written by science-fiction author William C. Dietz, is set in the aftermath of Resistance 2’s finale and Lt. Nathan Hale’s death, and follows Resistance 3’s hero, Joseph Capelli, on his journey right up until the beginning of Resistance 3.

The Long Legs is a mechanically-enhanced Chimeran Hybrid able to leap high into the air and swoop down on its targets with deadly force. It uses its increased mobility to traverse complex environments and find superior attack positions.
That’s right, Resistance 3 will be including two-player co-operative campaign that you and your buddies can play online or in split-screen. Lead designer Drew Murray had this to say to Play Magazine:

Some amazing looking screen shots and concept art leaked for the new instalment to the series and its looking kind of amazing. After an early leak from a movie set last year, and a no show at E3 it is nice to see that Insomniac Games is officially carrying on with the Resistance franchise. Today at Gamescom a teaser trailer was shown, that almost begins to come off as a good movie trailer.
However this teaser gives you a brief cinematic glimpse as to what is coming in the future. Insomniac looks to be going for a more brutal and gruesome approach to this title.
