God of War Ascension Unveiled for PS3

Sure, God of War 3 was promoted as the “end” to Kratos’ story, but let’s face it: as long as a franchise is profitable, there will always be more games to continue the series (see also: Halo). Today Sony’s Santa Monica Studio released the first teaser trailer for the next entry in the God of War series, Ascension.

The Modern Warfare 3 Campaign Review – It’s Awesome

The Modern Warfare 3 Campaign Review – It’s Awesome

I sat down and played through the whole Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 campaign (because it looks like three, maybe four other people did as well and I kind of wanted to even the playing field) in five and a half hours. The following are my thoughts on the campaign in its entirety.

Sony Patents “Biometric” Controllers

Sony Patents “Biometric” Controllers

You remember the Wii Vitality Sensor?  The weird little Wii-remote attachment that clipped onto your finger and monitored your pulse and stress level? Nintendo promised that the weird add-on would have “interesting” uses within games, but Nintendo themselves seems to have given up on the idea of “biometric” sensing games in favor of focusing on their upcoming Wii U. Still, despite Nintendo abandoning the idea, Sony seems to think there’s still some merit to the idea.

Resident Evil Fans: Sign Up for Playstation Plus

Resident Evil Fans: Sign Up for Playstation Plus

While I still think PSN’s biggest advantage over Xbox Live comes from the fact that it’s free, Sony has been pretty good about giving out incentives to sign up for their paid subscription service, and right now seems like a good time to sign up for Sony’s shameless cash grab, particularly if you’re a fan of a Resident Evil: all of the PS1 entries in the series will be available for free to PS+ subscribers starting Sept. 20th, and the new HD re-releases of RE4 (best title in the series, in my humble [but correct] opinion,) and Code Veronica will be available for half-price ($9.99) for PS+ members as well.

In semi-related news, Popcap Game’s fantastic Plants vs. Zombies will be available for free to PS+ members as well, in case all those Resident Evil games weren’t enough to sate your zombie addiction. As always, your ability to play any of the “free” games on PS+ will be revoked should you let your subscription expire, but any games you bought at a discount are yours to keep for forever, so the discount on RE4 and Code Veronica alone is worth considering.
