Bargain Bin Slumming: The Best Xbox 360 Games for $10 or Less

Bargain Bin Slumming: The Best Xbox 360 Games for $10 or Less

In tough economic times like these, it’s not unwise to tighten your belt and cut your expenditures down to the bare necessities. Of course, what qualifies as a “necessity” is open to interpretation: while some (sane) people make paying the rent or making sure they have food to eat their top priority, my personal need to be entertained overrides any basic survival instincts. I am an 20-something American male dammit, and society demands that I engage in blind, insatiable materialism and media consumption. As worrying as the thoughts of going hungry or bankrupt are, my hands shake like a withdrawing drug addict at the thought of not being able to afford more games.

Twitch.tv – Watch Games With a Purpose!

Twitch.tv – Watch Games With a Purpose!

A few years back when the ability to stream and broadcast content on the web was really picking up, I discovered a site called Justin.tv. The site allows users to broadcast their own content to a open viewer base from around the globe. This ability to stream content has progressively moved from streaming movies and tv shows, to live concerts, personal video streams, and more recently the ability to stream live video games. This is where this service really grabbed my attention.

Uncharted 3, Reviews, and Nerd Rage: An Editorial

Uncharted 3, Reviews, and Nerd Rage: An Editorial

Certain stereotypes exist about people who identify themselves as “gamers.” If they’re all to be believed, we’re all fat, socially-inept man-children who live in our parents’ basements while we waste our days away playing murder simulators and escapist power fantasies.  Now, obviously, that’s not entirely true (well, for most of us anyway,) but, as always, stereotypes aren’t necessarily ground in reality.  Another stereotype that’s commonly applied to anyone with a nerdy hobby is that they’re smart… But as with all the negative assumptions people make about “gamers,” this stereotype proves to be a little spurious as well.  Just read the comments section on any major, mainstream gaming site or any popular gaming message board, and you’ll come to learn that nerds are just as illogical, overly emotional, and well, stupid as any other sub-culture.

As IGX’s resident Halo guru, my job is to keep you in the loop with all things Halo. Today is no different, what we have for your viewing pleasure today is the Halo: Anniversary Launch Trailer. Seems like 343i has done a great job of trying to incorporate events that happened during Halo: Reach. The trailer shown below shows the events leading up to the departure of Pillar of Autumn. Lots of classic Halo imagery and set pieces are shown off and even a quick glimpse of the flood.

KinectHalo.com domain Registered by Microsoft

According to a WhoIs profile search, Microsoft bought the rights to the website KinectHalo.com. Does this mean the next Halo will be motion controlled? Gamrfeed did some domain name trolling to come up with this discovery. According to the domain records, Microsoft bought this all the way back June of last year and have been keeping the dirty secret all this time.

Halo: Reach Review

Halo: Reach Review

The Halo series gets a lot of flak; it’s hated on by contrarians because it’s popular and it’s trendy to hate anything that has any sort of sizable following, and it’s obviously hated by Sony and PC fanboys who simply blindly dismiss anything that isn’t on their platform of choice. Of course, some of that hate stems from the people that populate Halo’s online community, which seems like it’s made almost entirely of pre-pubescent internet tough guys and dudes who really love raised trucks. But all of these reasons to hate Halo are completely unfair, because regardless of what platform it’s on, or the audience it attracts, the fact is the games within the Halo series have consistently and undeniably been great, and out of all of them, the newest entry in the franchise, Halo Reach, is simply the best.
