In a rather innovative move, Canonical, best known for developing the most popular free and open source operating system Ubuntu, is partnering with Dell to sell laptops preinstalled with the OS in stores across China. This move will affect around 200 stores and will definitely give the Ubuntu OS some much needed publicity if it is to become viable and popular in the future.

New Inspiron One 2320 All In One from Dell
The last few weeks or so has been quite exciting as far as the all-in-ones are concerned with veteran giants HP and Toshiba modifying their comprehensive line-up while Samsung decided to take the plunge into the market with a new release. Today, another device forayed into the market and this time it is by Dell.
Dell Thunder
So the new tablet by Dell called the “Streak” was just released 4 days ago. Dell’s newest gadget has also been announced, that’s right the first official smartphone from Dell is set to release by the end of this year and it seems very promising. The Dell Thunder is this new hot device coming from the PC giants Dell. As with the Dell Streak, the Thunder will be running on Android 2.1 with a customizable dell interface. This new smartphone will have a 4.1 inch OLED touch display with an 8MP camera that takes videos at 720p, the web browser will have Flash 10.1 support, along with an integrated Hulu app. As of this moment this is all the information on the Dell Thunder. With this years 4th quarter fast approaching, I’m sure there will be tons of information released over the next few weeks to help build up to the release of the Dell Thunder, sometime this holiday.
Dell Streak
Is this truly a tablet or an over-sized smartphone? This 5-inch touch screen tablet runs on a modded version of the Android OS and is the first of its kind. It may not be taken seriously because there are a few other tablets out, but they aren’t very good compared to this. This tablet comes with a nice 1ghz processor with WIFI and 3G support, but as of now they’re aren’t any cellphone providers supporting the device yet. But that shouldn’t be long because the device is basically a big smart phone, and when I say big, I mean it’s the size of a paper-back book so it still fits into your pocket unlike any other tablet on the market.
Some of the features include a nice 5MP camera on the back, with flash and a front facing webcam so you can have video chats with others. The set release date for the Dell Streak is in August which will be selling for roughly $500 for an unlocked version, or if any cellphone providers decided to sell it you could possibly get it for cheaper. Not too many people have even heard of this device so I doubt people are expecting this to be an “iPad Killer” but it is by far the best of the Android tablets. I plan on another 6 months to go by and we’ll finally see an Android tablet to compete with iPad, and then the fan boy wars will begin. For a more in-depth look, check out the video below to see what you think of the new project.
