YouTube Tuesday – Waiting on a Noob Edition

Every Tuesday I like to take some time to focus on the hardworking and dedicated “YouTubers” within the gaming community. As this is a place for celebration and not notoriety, I have no problem dedicating this week’s edition to someone who is already enormously popular, even by YouTube standards. Chris Smoov has been uploading videos for games such as Madden and NBA 2K for over 4 years now. However, his real success has come from uploading Call of Duty videos that have a certain auto-tuned flair.

The First Call of Duty XP Kicks Off Today – News, Event Info and More Details

And here we go! All the planning and preparation will now be put to work when the gates open at exactly 11:00 am Pacific Standard Time as the first ever Call of Duty Expo goes into gear in Playa Vista, Los Angeles California (No better place to hold an even like this than “Playa Vista”). Fans are surely going to be in for a treat with all the events lined up for this 2 day Expo, as the Call of Duty Website has already launched its live stream coverage of everything that is going to be happening in and around the place.

Call of Duty: Black Ops – Escalation Map Pack Achievment List

The Call of the Dead along with four new maps launch to many awaiting COD fans tomorrow, and judging by the trailers we are in for a serious party. The maps look like they are full of variety and range, and the zombie map looks to raise the bar even higher then ever before. Not to mention George A Romero, the godfather of all things zombie, has leant his hand at preparing the story and direction for Call of the Dead.

Call of Duty: Black Ops – Escaltion Map Pack Trailer

Treyarch has released a short developer diary/trailer for the upcoming installment of Black Ops DLC. This trailer provides a brief rundown of each of the four new multiplayer maps, and does not touch on the new “Call of the Dead” zombie map. I imagine zombies will be getting their own trailer in the next few days.

After Activision recently sent a pair of dog tags to “That Video Game Blog” a URL has been revealed. This website is a countdown that ends the morning of March 2nd during The Game Developers Conference. See for yourself at www.findmakarov.com, it is quite convincing I must say. With a total of 5 developers working on the COD franchise now its not far off to say that we could be seeing some footage very soon.

Call of Duty: Black Ops First Strike Map Pack Trailer

The first map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops will be hitting the Xbox Live marketplace February 1st, and it’s looking to be quite promising. This map pack will include four new multiplayer maps and one zombie map all for 1200 Microsoft Points. This map pack will be exclusive to the Xbox 360 for the first month or so then it will be released to the PC and PS3 community. Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think!

PS3 Owners Want Full Refund For COD: Black Ops

Slowly more and more PS3 owners are signing a petition to get a full refund from activision for the purchase of Call of Duty: Black Ops. According to the upset gamers the PS3 “can equal and/or outperform the Xbox 360 on many levels”, yet Black Ops on Sony’s console features “sub-par graphics, buggy software and less features” then the 360 edition. This was brought to attention recently when Digital Foundry claimed that Black Ops is “clearly superior-looking” on the 360.

Just in case you have been living under a rock for the past six months, today marks the release of the next installment in the Call of Duty franchise. Black Ops has been extremely well received across the board in almost all major gaming communities, and those of us playing here at IGX are having an absolute blast so far. Treyarch seems to have found a perfect blend from previous COD installments and still stamping the game with their own flavor and personality.
