Galaxy Tab 7 Unveiled

Galaxy Tab 7 Unveiled

Samsung had recently announced the Galaxy Tab 8.9, a good middle ground product for the aspiring tablet user but now it has showcased one rather surprising product. The tablet in question will add to the significantly large Galaxy lineup and is labeled the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus. This one will be available in two versions, 16GB and 32GB and will feature Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS and will be powered by a 1.2GHz dual core processor. As the name says, the screen will be a compact 7”; good things do come in small packages after all!

Motorola Xoom: First Impressions

Motorola Xoom: First Impressions

After the initial launch of the iPad, everyone seemed to have gone into a tablet frenzy. It wasn’t until recently that companies started to put out real competition for the iPad. So, when I was trying to decide which tablet I would like to receive this year for my birthday present, I was stuck. The Playbook, while amazing, isn’t too friendly without a Blackberry. The size was also a large factor, as my Motorola Atrix was too close to the size of the Playbook. It came down to the iPad 2 and the Motorola Xoom. As an early birthday present, I received the Xoom, and couldn’t be happier.

India’s $35 Android tablet reportedly on track for January launch

India’s $35 Android tablet reportedly on track for January launch

It seemed like a bit of a stretch from the beginning, but it looks like India’s $35 Android tablet is intent on proving the skeptics wrong. The Indian government has just announced that it’s awarded the manufacturing contract to HCL Technologies (makers of the once world’s cheapest laptop), and that the first batch of tablets are slated to be available by January 10th. That initial run will reportedly only include the 7-inch model that we’ve been seeing all along, but there’s also apparently 5-inch and 9-inch versions planned for launch at a later date. We also presume that the tablet is still hanging onto that $35 price tag (for university students, at least), but that key detail is curiously absent from this latest announcement.
