April is around the corner, and with April comes many delicious gaming treats for all walks of gaming life. One game that will be sweeping the gaming nation will be the long awaited Portal 2, maybe not so long awaited, but this game is definitely on the tip of everyone’s tongue.

Crysis 2 – 3 Minutes of Great in Game Footage – PC Version
Crysis 2 is on its way to big release next week. For the first time Crytek will bring the world Crysis to a variety of gamers through a multiplatform launch that is shaping up to be one of the best shooters of the year. If you have not already played the online public beta, I encourage you to check it out to see if that pre order needs to be in place before next tuesday. Today some new gameplay was released of a firefight taking place in the streets of New York City.
Batman Arkham City – Official Gameplay Trailer
Up until now press and media releases regarding Arkham City and gameplay have been pretty non existent. This trailer released today seems to fill in all of the gaps that many fans may have been wondering about. This trailer sets a great tone for this game, and also shows some pretty slick moves from our favorite caped crusader.
Battlefield 3 – “Sniper Hunt” – Part 2 of 3
Another part to DICE’s series of trailers was released today, and once again is packed with impressive footage. Its seems as if Battlefield 3 is really trying to put the player behind the eyes of a real soldier. Instead of looking out to a field of easily dispatched targets, DICE is focusing on more intense or challenging engagements with less enemies. Not less enemies because they are lazy, less enemies because that is what naturally soldiers would run into.
Homefront and Halo – THQ Enters Largescale Warfare and Reach Gets Defiant Maps – Tuesday March 15th
Tomorrow is Tuesday March 15th and if you love first person shooters like I do, then I hope your calendar is clear. THQ marks their newest entry into the world of large scale military shooters, and certain affinity bring us the newest batch of Halo: Reach Maps. I realize these games don’t really share that much in common, but I figured if you’re making a trip to your local game retailer you could check both out and decide what path is right for you.

During the madness of GDC news last week it was hard to make sure every cool bit of footage made it on the site. One of those games and videos that was left out last week was Resistance 3. From the get go Resistance 3 looks like its bringing all the right things to the table, and not just trying to mimic its competition.
Gears of War 3 – Beta Details and Date Announced – April 25th – May 15th
The great news continues to flow today with the announcement of the long awaited Gears of War 3 beta. Starting this April players will have access to the public beta for 3 weeks. Those of you who have purchased Bulletstorm will have access to the beta April 18th (one week early), and all others can begin one week later on April 25th. The beta will finish May 15th and include unlockables that can be carried over to the full retail version of the game this fall.

If you have been caught up in other releases, it may be time to toss Black Ops back in the disc tray. Double EXP can be earned all weekend starting today and ends Monday morning.
