Piracy is a touchy subject, and when red tape gets involved, some people get strangled in it by virtue of standing too close. A handful of courts believe that if you run an open WiFi and someone uses it for illegal purposes, you can be charged with a crime. Fortunately, a court in Finland has said this is not the case.

Major Minecraft Changes Planned: Singleplayer is now a solo Multiplayer. Also, some Modding API thing.
Okay that sounds weird, but let me explain this a little. Notch commented in the past that the code of Minecraft would have been much cleaner and more friendly to work with if he had coded it purely as a multiplayer game, and having singleplayer be simply going solo. As any fan of MC mods will know, there is a massive difference between Singleplayer and Multiplayer, and getting a mod to work smoothly in both is like herding cats at a fish market.

I don’t Think Racy Outfits are Demeaning to Women, but they are Indeed Pathetic.
Night Elves, you dress like sluts. Vierra in Ivalice, you’re fetish fuel. Bunny in Bunny Must Die, are you kidding me you flat-chested rabbit/cat-eared albino in a bunny suit? Sill Plain pre-Sengoku Rance, your kimono looks a lot better than being practically naked. Any woman ever drawn by Luis Royo, you’re a whore, not a warrior. Put down that sword and find someone without a fetish for impractical armor.

Videogame Companies Agree to Ban Sex Offenders
Okay this is why I both love and despise the sex offender’s register. Love it because it lets me know if there is a rapist in my area, and despise it because it’s starting to get to where I am questioning its legality. In an effort to further mitigate online predators and people who take a leak in the woods, several videogame companies agreed to ban the accounts of 3500 registered New York sex offenders after an agreement with the attorney general’s office.
A Modder Who Cannot Spell is a Waste of Time
Mods are a big thing. I’ve said that before, their adding longevety, showing current and previous interrest in a game, and give some brilliant ideas. Moders are the reason I *dont* loose interest in games even years later. All typos in this paragraph are intentional and have been seen in mods I have played.
Do Gamers Realize When They Break the Law?
Sometimes I’m disgusted to call myself a gamer. Communities rife with pirates, racists, sexual harassment, homophobia, nationalism, hackers, threats… put the kettle on I’m writing another novel-length opinion piece.
I’m not a programmer, I’m not a designer, I’m not anyone who makes content for sale. Despite this you all know my opinion of piracy; I hate it. Even companies like EA and so on who use DRM and publishers that spit on developers, people who don’t deserve money, aren’t exempt from that stance. Onto my point, some gamers regularly break the law, often in ways that they think nobody cares about. Well people do.

Phantasy Star Online 2 Closed Beta will Test Premium Items
As was revealed before, Phantasy Star Online 2 will be free-to-play unlike its predecessor, and will fund itself through premium items much like many online games have considered and succeeded at. Sega however has promised that premium items wont ruin the balance between paying and non-paying players.
