Halo 4 is a little under 6 months away and already the fancy edition is announced and ready for pre-order. Though it’s not a Legendary edition which will likely feature some sort of plastic figurine, which I am sure will be announced closer to the actual launch.
The first trailer for the latest Pokemon title has been released and its chalk full of gameplay footage. It shows off the new animations for trainers as well as the legendary Pokemon that will make an appearance. Each of which you can see on the games cover, but you can see them action in the video as well.
Sim City is finally back and Maxis is finally putting effort into something that isn’t The Sims, which is becoming a tired franchise. They are revitalizing the series with a brand new engine that is going to revolutionize the genre, or so it seems.
This isn’t surprising news but it does show an oversight on Microsoft’s part. Of course the Zoom was most sold accessory for the Kinect as the alternatives are either extension cables, wall brackets or bowling balls. None of these are terribly useful.
Today, Robot Entertainment announced the sequel to the quirky, third-person, tower-defense type game. The biggest and more interesting addition this time around will be the inclusion of co-op play. Killing orcs with friends will likely be far more satisfying than just a single sarcastic protagonist.
Zipper Interactive, a Sony owned developer, is closing up shop after 17 years of service. They started out working on games liek Mechwarrior 3 and Crimson Skies for PC, then later went Sony exclusive releasing the SOCOM:US Navy SEALs series for PS2 and onward. They also created the massive online shooter MAG.
As of March 1 the PS Vita has sold over 1.2 Million units, worldwide, according to Sony. It launched in Japan last December and only just made its way to Western shores last month, but it seems that it is already off to a very strong start, but not quite as strong as Nintendo.
There’s been plenty of information rocketing out of EA lately, for the upcoming Medal of Honor sequel. Possibly the most pertinent is the narrowed release date of October 23, 2012. That’s still a few months away yet, but already they’ve announced what early adopters will get to look forward to.
Maxis studios finally unveiled the fifth entry into the long-running, city building-simulation at GDC. The game, simply titled SimCity, has been built from the ground up to make the experience more modern and robust. I suspect the The Sims is to blame for us only hearing about this now.
It’s almost time to go back to Raccoon City where it all started and what better way to enjoy that then by digging into a box filled with DLC cards and patches. Er, that’s supposed to sound fun. Either way, that’s about what you will expect for an additional $10 this March 20th. Well, there may be something else in there as well.
Just last week EA announced the sequel to the reboot of the Medal of Honor series. EA Los Angeles is back on the reigns for this project and the game will sport the–now standard–Frostbite 2 engine. That same engine will be running behind both the single and multiplayer aspects, which are both being developed in house this time.

Ever since the Wii U was announced last year there has been plenty of mockery of its hardware and even more so, its name. I agree that it is a weird choice, especially for Nintendo which hasn’t made a “sequel” home console since NES/SNES, though they have done it with portable game systems since their inception. The gaming market has changed and they need to change with it.
