After the tremendous pressure by the US government, Megaupload collapsed yesterday. As the major hacking syndicate Anonymous started to take down major corporation’s sites, there was a storm brewing. With Fileserve, Filesonic and VideoBB being listed in the 72 page indictment, they all withdrew their affiliate programs earlier today.
I am probably the minority on this one, but I hate 3D. I truly thought it was a gimmick, just another way to companies to drain more money from my pockets. It turns out though, it’s not a gimmick and every company out there is working on making the 3D experience the norm. The 3DS was the first real commercial use for glasses-free 3D and since then, that’s what all the companies have been striving for. Honestly though, I wish they would stop.
I go to a lot of conventions and I have started to see a startling number of females in attendance recently. Now, geek chic and geek power in the female population is growing so I do welcome them into the convention. No, my problem is really with the half naked “booth babes” who always get in the way of the products that you want to see and when questioned, have no idea what is going on.
Samsung is stepping up their game in the mobile phone division. With the release of the Galaxy Note, it is the best solution for the traveling artist that I have ever seen. With its incomparable 5.3” Samsung display, it is quite possibly the brightest and most color rich phone I have seen.
Like most consumers, I have allocated a large amount of my funds to online shopping. It definitely is hard to know if the product you get will be what you actually receive in the mail, which is why I stick to websites that have easy and free returns in case of such an event. It is actually worth it for me to buy something off, say, a Forever 21 website and return it to the store if I hate it.
Last year wasn’t the best year for Sony. After the whole PSN debacle, Sony has been struggling to sort out their PR. With spirits up, the Presidents of Sony took the stage earlier tonight for their first press conference of this year’s CES 2012. Some of the highlights of the show tonight were the new Walkman Android smartphone, Netflix for the Vita on day one, Xperia Ion, Bloggie, 4K resolution, 3D, Will Smith and Kelly Clarkson.
Nintendo didn’t see very strong sales numbers when the 3DS first came out. However, with the help of a price-drop and a better game lineup, they seem to be bouncing back. Both of the recent games from the Mario franchise have done exceeding well, with Super Mario 3D and Mario Kart 7 each having sold over 1 million units.

PC gamers who are waiting for Batman: Arkham City to become available may have to wait just a little longer. It was originally slotted to launch on November 18th in North America, but it seems like it is now slotted for November 22nd.

I am a novice gamer, at best. While the gaming industry does intrigue me, my gaming skills are limited to playing Mario and Donkey Kong on my Super Nintendo as well as Tetris, Pokemon, and Sims. With this in mind, I would like to go on to say some of my fellow colleagues started to make a giant point: how could I possibly write in depth articles about games if I didn’t play them? So I decided to write a daily blog of sorts on my frustrations and hardships playing my first Xbox 360 game (besides fighting games, which I like to call my button smashing games). It would only make sense that I would pick up Batman: Arkham City as my first game, since you know, it’s Batman.
