Nintendo won a massive battle today when they got the very popular r4 cartridge banned from the UK. For those of you who did not know, the R4 cartridge is able to store dozen’s of homebrew and illegal games for the Nintendo DS. So nobody in the UK will be able to buy, ship or even advertise the R4 cartridge without the chance of being charged. Personally this would not really affect me because I am not a DS user or a hacker, but for those of you who do enjoy said activities, then let’s hope Nintendo’s ban does not spread to other countries.

The R4 is a very outdated DS chip, cards such as the Acekard 2i have since made a mockery out of it. Of course, the longer it fights with Nintendo, the better the chances of other cards being left alone.
The problem with a long fight means they may implement legislation much like they have in Japan that would prohibit any sort of sale or use of a backup cart device.
