Kinect Price Announced

Kinect Price Announced

Microsoft has finally announced the pricing for Kinect, it will be $150 and will include a copy of Kinect Adventures. For those of you have been living under a rock for the past year, Kinect is Microsoft’s new motion-sensing attachment that is supposed to revolutionize gaming.

After an amazing display of Kinect in action at E3, and all the amazing news we’ve all heard and seen Kinect seems very promising.  But the real test will be tomorrow when Kinect will have its first public test. That’s right all the lucky people at Comic-con will get a chance to try out Kinect and make the final decision for the rest of us unfortunate ones who don’t get to try it out. I’m guessing Kinect will be a huge hit, judging by all of the amazing stuff it’s capable of doing. I think the fact that you can game without a controller and tell your Xbox when to play and stop movies will sell the majority of the Xbox fanatics.  I do know that I will definitely have to get Kinect when it comes out in stores.

Medal of Honor Beta Testing – Available Now on Xbox 360

Medal of Honor Beta Testing – Available Now on Xbox 360

Beta testing these days has become more and more common after the problems that arose after the launch of Modern Warfare 2. For instance Dice, the studio responsible for Medal of Honor multiplayer, and the Battlefield series has done an excellent job of providing testing for both Battlefield Bad Company 2 and now Medal of Honor this year.

Until now, Medal of Honor beta testing has only been happening on PS3 and PC. When this public testing was announced at E3, EA was sure to include Xbox users in the test even though it took a little extra time to make it happen. After all there have been plenty Xbox exclusive releases well before other platforms, so every now and then the tables turn I guess.

So if you have not pre-ordered this game, now might be the time. Upon pre-ordering you will be provided a code in which you then register on the beta website. In case you have missed details on the re vamped Medal of Honor game on its way, let me just say it looks to a beautiful blend of both worlds from Call of Duty and Battlefield. If you have spent any time this year with either of those games, I recommend you give this game and the beta some love, because calling it a copy cat of other shooters doesn’t quite cut it.

Nexus One Discontinued

Nexus One Discontinued

On Friday, Google announced that they had just received the last shipment of their much beloved ‘Google Phone” the Nexus One to be sold on their online store. The Nexus One epitomized the Android operating system by offering the most powerful hardware and also by having no region lock to raise its availability. This touchscreen behemoth did receive many favourable reviews and was well received by the tech community, however the consumers did not hop on the bandwagon quite so easily, as sales did suffer when compared to those of the retail options.

The lack of local sales and service for it could be one of the reasons it fell behind in overall sales. This could also be the  reason they are no longer offering online sales after this shipment is sold. Though retailers such as Vodafone in Europe, KT in Korea, and possibly others based on local market conditions will still sell the Nexus, certainly not handy for us North Americans. So if you were waiting for a price drop or another reason to grab this upgrade then now is your chance.
